Mrs. Angie Mann

I was born and raised in the Niles community and a proud member of Niles High School class of 1995. I was one of the first students in Niles to complete the Allied Health course, my senior year. Taking the Allied Health class was the best decision I made as it confirmed my love for nursing. Soon after graduating high school, I became employed by Niles Lakeland Community hospital as a nursing assistant while I worked towards completing my nursing degree at Southwestern Michigan College.

I graduated nursing school in 1998 and continued to work as an RN at Lakeland on a medical surgical/pediatric unit. In 2003, I started working in the emergency department and in 2005 I received advance training in medical forensics. In 2007, I received my Bachelors in Nursing from Indiana University.

While working in the Emergency Department, I performed many medical forensic examinations. In 2008, I started and managed the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program (SANE) for Lakeland Health St. Joseph, Niles, and Watervliet and became a certified examiner.

Over the past 8 years, I performed hundreds of medical forensic exams and testified in court as an expert witness in many cases. This past year I was a practice manager for a very busy OBGYN medical office where I learned so much about the medical office setting.

I am very excited to now hold a position for Niles High School instructing the Professional Health Career Academy (PHCA) and Allied Health students where I can give back to my community what it has provided to me.
