Dear Niles Community Schools Families and Staff,
As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we are also entering the final stretch of the school year. It is hard to believe how quickly this year has gone, and I want to thank our students, families, staff, and community for all you have done to support Niles Community Schools.
These last few weeks are always exciting. Students are finishing projects, taking part in concerts, field trips, awards programs, athletic events, and end-of-year celebrations. We also want to give a special shout out to the Class of 2026 as they prepare for graduation. We are excited to celebrate our Cedar Lane, WAY, and Adult Education graduates on Tuesday, May 26, our Niles High School graduates at commencement on Thursday, May 28 and our Southside graduates on May 29. We are proud of each of you and look forward to honoring your hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments.
There is a lot to be proud of across the district. Our students have worked hard, our staff have given so much, and our families have continued to show up in countless ways. One area we are especially proud of this year is the increase we have seen in regular student attendance across the district. This has been an important focus of our district attendance initiatives, and it reflects the hard work of students, families, teachers, building teams, and support staff working together. Being in school consistently matters, and we appreciate the efforts families have made to help students show up, stay engaged, and finish the year strong.
Please take a few minutes to check out our latest District Newsletter. It includes updates, highlights, upcoming events, and some great examples of what has been happening across the district.

As we finish the year, please continue to watch for updates from your child’s school about schedules, events, exams, field trips, graduation activities, and other important reminders.
Thank you again for your support. We are looking forward to a great end to the school year.
Go Vikes!
