Southside School provides specialized center-based programming for students in grades 6–12 who require intensive academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional supports. We also offer a Pre-Vocational and Transition Program for young adults ages 18–26, focused on developing vocational, independent living, employment, and community participation skills. Serving students throughout Berrien County, placements are considered only after a student’s resident district has implemented and documented appropriate supports and interventions.
At Southside, we foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where students can grow academically, socially, and behaviorally. Through individualized instruction, positive behavioral supports, school-wide Guidelines for Success, and evidence-based practices such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), we prepare students with the skills needed for success in school, work, and their communities.
